Sniff this!

As I've told all of you Shiner is still in horndog mode, poor guy. Yes, it's still very annoying but I can't help but think about how it's basically torture for him to be anywhere around Shiloh. I did a little mini research on dogs' sense of smell and that's why I am feeling so much sympathy for the poor guy now! When I take him out of the house whether it was a walk or ride, he's better but, I can't have him out 24/7! So when we do get back home he goes right back to the same behavior. So this is what I found on my quest for dog sniffer info....

A humans sense of smell is very poor in comparison to that of a dog. We have 5 million scent receptors in our nose while the average dog can have over 200 million! Scent hounds like our friends Linus & henry can have between 230-300 million! That's quite a sniffer for such little guys!! Dogs can sense odors at concentrations nearly 100 million times lower than humans can. They can detect a drop of blood in five quarts of water!

So after reading this I hope it gives you better idea of what Shiner is dealing with. Shiloh is putting out her "vibe" and he can't do anything about it because we Do Not want 10 puppies again (not right now)!! So next time, if I'm on the phone with you and you hear him crying in the background, just know what he's probably going through. Have a heart people, haha!!!! We love you Shiner but, we want the normal "you" back!
