Jason wasn't that great last night (but he's just SO likeable). I had never heard his song before, I actually googled it before the show started to hear Sting's version. Um, yeah like I said it wasn't great, he was definitely in his element but, he needs to step it up!!
Carly was good. I don't understand the judges sometimes I feel like they are totally off. I enjoyed her performance.
and finally, David Cook. Need I say more? He was excellent! After last night everyone is saying that he is going to win but, I sorta would hate that for him. Let me explain.... Can you imagine if Chris Daughtry went on to win his season? It was actually good for him that he was voted off when he was. He's obviously very successful now and if he had won he could have gotten stuck in pop style album with all the songs written for him. Whether David gets that far or not, I think he will have much success like "Daughtry" either way.
side note: as Ryan said last night David Cook did Chris Cornell's version of Billie Jean. America should not be fooled that he is not doing these "new" arrangements on his own! The previous weeks he has also done different arrangements of his song selections too. Just for comparison sake I'll post Chris Cornell's version. Chris Cornell obviously has the music smarts to change it up like he did but, I have to say David Cook's version rocks so much more!!! So I'm not David hating, I just want to give credit where credit is due. Chris Cornell made an awesome arrangement but, David truly rocked it out.
Real quick, Dancing with the Stars. Two couples left last night....Penn Jillette (the magician) and Monica Seles (the tennis player). No shock here, they were both pretty awful!!
