Could it get just a little bit hotter??

What was planned for a more outdoor (filled with activities) day ended up being an indoor get together at our neighbors (April & Craig's) house. It was SO hot out today! Too bad because they have a pool and Gina bought some fun games to play outside but..... like I said it was too hot. We were just outside long enough for the chicken to cook!! ;) Which was so yummy by the way.

Since it was too hot to do anything outside we decided to move it in and eat in the AC!! The food was delicious too! We had grilled chicken, pasta salad, baked beans and 3 dessert choices! Gina craftily cut a watermelon basket with, obviously watermelon, cantaloupe and grapes. She also ordered a cookie cake with a little message on it to us :) :( Then I made a sopapilla cheesecake-- recipe posted below.... Thank you again. It was so nice, we're going to miss our Mayhaw gatherings.Sopapilla Cheesecake Recipe

2 cans of crescent rolls
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon cinnamon
2 (8 oz.) packages cream cheese, softened
1 stick butter

Preheat oven to 350F. Press 1 can of crescent rolls into bottom of 9 X 13 inch pan. Mix cream cheese, 1 cup sugar and vanilla until creamy. Spread over rolls in pan. Cover with other can of rolls. Melt butter and stir in rest of sugar and cinnamon. Pour over top. Bake for 30 minutes. Can be served warm or room temperature.

Thank you for posting the recipe, and thanks for coming over to our house! I wish you all were sticking around longer so we could get together more.
