Wow, what a relief!

We are taking a sigh of relief over here, that's for sure! No, we haven't sold the house yet but, as far a having something lined up for Georgia.. it's taken care of now! All the rent house options and companies were just all being so difficult and aggravating. The website would say one thing about their pet policy then you call and get some totally different answer or at least one we didn't want to hear! I ended up finding a Century 21 office (thank you google search) with a pet policy that will work just fine for our needs. No weight limits or pet limits- which is right up our alley. We do have to pay a non refundable pet fee but, honestly we were expecting that and on top of it all these folks don't charge a monthly pet fee per pet either. Thank goodness!!

So, we have some friends that are already at Fort Benning (and more coming this summer too) who were OH SO KIND to go look at some houses for us. That's the other kicker, you can't start any rental process with out having a representative there to physically look at the house. So they looked at two that were in Columbus but, both sounded like they weren't quite up to par for the average persons living standards. Can you tell I'm trying to be nice with what I'm saying? Basically, they were dumps and one was a dump in a not so great neighborhood to top it off.

Micah and I had one last house that was really our last option, they had plenty of other houses that looked adorable and were in our price range but, it then goes back to the pet issue.... so the deal with this house is that it's in AL. In case you aren't familiar with that area, Columbus is a bridge (over the Chatahoochee River) across from Alabama. Phenix City to be exact and yes that's how you spell it. The house happens to be in Smiths, Al which is about 16 miles from Fort Benning. So no long distance drive for Micah to work or anything, it's just set out of the way more than what we were expecting. I have no complaints though, because the Lynch's said this house was in a great neighborhood and the house itself was too cute. Judging by the pictures, the back yard looks really big which should make the dogs happy :) As soon as they were done looking at the house, they told us it was a-ok and we phoned the realty company (so they could hold it over the weekend for us). Since we are currently in podunk-ville right now we weren't able to get the applications notarized and overnighted but, as soon as business starts Monday, that will be our first thing to do! Let's make this thing official!!

Just so y'all can get a mental image of our (future) Alabama temporary home, here is a picture. Remember, we are only going to be there for about 6 months, so we weren't searching for our dream home just something that we can feel safe living in and calling home for half a year!! Even so, the house is really cute!
Thank you so much Steve and Meg (& Aubrey too), we are totally taking y'all out to dinner when we get in town!!!
