We have progress!

As I said yesterday my 38 weeks appointment was this morning and it went very well. The doctor came in and did all the usual check up things, measure my belly, listen to the heart beat and ask if I am in any pain..... That all went well, Landon's HR today was around 137 :) Then it was on to the exam! I don't know if it's because there has been some progress or this doctor just has a different technique but, it was delightfully uncomfortable today! I know that sounds confusing but, it was a delight to hear the news but, uncomfortable at the same time!!

So, the update is that I am now 3cm dilated and 75% effaced!! Wow, that was crazy to hear although I was very much anticipating on hearing some progress! Also, she said he is still kinda up high but, didn't seem to worried about that holding up the progression. We all know he could decide to "drop" even more tonight or whenever the mood strikes!

The couple times I have seen this doctor she has said oh, first time babies take a while yadda, yadda... but, that's kind of in one ear out the other. Everyone is different (Gina can vouch for that, right G?) and she continued to say (in a surprised voice) you may not even make it to 40 weeks! Then she looked at my chart to see my next appointment (which is Thursday the 7th) and and she said I may just be in before that!!

So of course I told Micah about the progress imediately and he said, so when does she think you will have him? I told him unfortunately it does not work like that!! :-P But the doc was very pleased & confident with my progress that I should more than likely be in before the next appt or my due date! Woo-hoo, here's hoping!! And if by some chance things do not progress further over the weekend and I do make to my Thursday appointment, she said they would then strip my membranes. Considering it would be just a few days before the due date.

So stay tuned... if posts come to a sudden halt you can probably assume that I am away from the computer/internet for a day or two. I doubt that I will be able to get internet connection at the hospital but, as soon as I do have "access" I will post pictures ASAP, have no fear!
