Shiver me timbers!

Hello all! Yesterday was quite the busy day. I thought it was going to be my first day at home by myself with Landon.. that quickly changed......

To start off, Micah had to go back to work Thursday last week, my mom flew out Sunday morning and Micah's mom will be here this weekend. So that's why I say it's my first "official" day by ourselves! ;)

Well, back to the story- I started having this serious back pain Saturday night and it continued on to Sunday. I mean serious back pain, I would be sitting in the recliner and it would be throbbing! So I said ok if it continues Monday morning I will call the hospital and see what they want me to do. I had a feeling it was the beginning of a bladder infection- oh joy. So it ended up still being pretty bad the next morning, I even had a fever along with it (100.4). Even though I'm not supposed to be driving yet I told them my situation and they said go ahead and come in but, be careful, with the driving and lifting of the car seat and stroller. (In addition to not driving I have a weight limit for lifting things of 10-15lbs) By the way, before I left the house I took my temp and it went up to 101.

So, very carefully we made our way up there and I arrived around 11:30. Let me tell you, I didn't leave that place until 3:30!!!! Long day! They ended up doing a urinalysis and took some blood and the conclusion was that I do have a bladder infection. TMI-Fortunately I don't have the painful urinating that goes along with it. So they gave me an antibiotic shot on each hip, then a prescription for antibiotics for a week and also some pain meds for my back. I am not lying when I say this, my back pain has probably been worse then anything that happened in the hospital! So I got all loaded up and headed home which leads to the title of this post. My fever was so on and off driving home that I was shivering so bad I gave myself a headache! To top it off I got home and checked my temp and it had reached a record 104!! Yikes!! I had to sit on the back porch to warm up before I could do anything. I had to feed Landon very soon and didn't want to be shaking all over the place. Poor little guy was probably getting steamed milk from me, I was burning up so bad!!!

I woke up today and immediately took my stuff so that I would be able to function and as long as I do that I feel totally "normal". I just need to stay on top of that for the next week and it should all be cleared up! And no worries folks, all the meds they are giving me are totally breast feeding friendly too! Of course we wanted to make sure. ;)
