To myself, Aiden and Kiyo!! We all share the same birthday, the 28th. The boys turned 2 and I... did not. Gina reminded me that it's the big 2-7 this year! Thanks Gina ;) I don't know why but for some reason the last few birthdays the years just seem to smush together!
I personally had an awesome birthday. My phone was a buzzin' with all the facebook love I had received throughout the day, thanks again. As far as how we filled the day, we woke up and got ready to drive to Alexandria. We had heard good things about the zoo there and it worked out perfect that Micah was off and everything. We hit up the zoo first and we were SO impressed! Now, it's definitely not the Dallas or Fort Worth zoo (the only ones I can compare it to) but considering it's size they really had great exhibits. They had big animals like lions, tigers and yes bears! Since they don't have a huge space they can't have animals like elephants, giraffes though. And I didn't see gorillas either but the rest made up for that, although most of the big kitties were sleeping it was still so awesome to see them so close.
The plus to going yesterday? It was a Wednesday... a school day which means it was totally empty!! No screaming and hollering kids, it was literally like we had the whole place to ourselves! Which was nice for Landon's first trip to a zoo and it was also perfect for photo opps. We didn't have to worry about folks passing in front or anything :)
After the zoo we went to the mall and ate Chick-fil-a for lunch. I know that may sound totally lame for a birthday lunch but I could eat Chick-fil-a everyday in a dreamworld, I love it so much! Since we don't live just the down the street from one it was actually a treat for us to have it.
Afterwards we stopped by Target and the Halloween store in search of costumes for a party (we have to dress up for) Friday. Trying to avoid the $40, $50 and $60 costumes I ended up finding this cavewoman dress but they didn't have a man one besides Fred Flinstone! So we bought a bone and a bone necklace for Micah and figured the man dress, caveman thing would be easy to do ourselves.
Well, like I said it was an awesome day we even got to come home and have leftover birthday cake from my party in Dallas. It froze deliciously.... Yum, Casa Linda Bakery cake......
Now to share some pictures from the zoo! Micah gave me some camera stuff for my birthday and one of those gifts was a new memory card. The one I already had was a 1g which held like 250 pictures maybe? Not totally sure but the one he got me is a 4g memory card and can hold like 800 something pictures!! It's ridiculous!!! At one point I looked at me camera and in the # pictures left to take area it said 573!!! Brace yourself for TONS of pictures!!
