As you saw on my last post it had to do with the media and their lack of coverage on our troops. Well, I know one program that I do watch does recognize a soldier at the end of every program. It may not be the most recently deceased but, I think that’s the point. One night it will go from October 2003 to the next night July 2005. They state the name, age and a brief background of the soldier and their family. If all the talk/news shows did that it would help remind people that we are still at war and those are our friends and family over there! I just think it becomes too easy for those people not associated with someone in the military to forget.
Just as an FYI, politics will probably never be mentioned in my blog. It’s too heavy of a subject and can be too controversial but, this leads to something that can be taken controversial to some. The show that I was talking about in the above paragraph is Nancy Grace. Apparently, after “google-ing” her there are some major Nancy-haters! I’ve really just started watching regularly since she’s come back from having her twins, not that it makes a difference! As I was saying I found a firenancygrace.com website and many sites like that. Which, after visiting the site you can tell it was done by a bunch of hippies! Who are apparently offended by the things that she has said about Michael Jackson and just recently Heath Ledger (which was what all the media was reporting). One of the sponsors for the site is getoutiraq.com, so you get my drift……. That’s fine having your opinion but, these people don’t like Nancy SOLELY because she states her opinion. If you don’t like her, don’t watch!
I like her for what her show is about, for example one of her latest major topics is about the Marine that was killed and the “man” that allegedly killed her and fled to Mexico. It helps bring awareness to people and to constantly be on the look-out for fugitives like Ceaser Lauren. Once they have committed the crime they are bound to travel anywhere and people should know the latest on their description and where-abouts so these crimes are not committed again.
Ok, so that was my (one) time of probably ever getting on a soapbox. J Sorry it was so lengthy but, some things take more than a one paragraph post!
