What an ugly creature.

Last night on our walk we came across an armadillo! Eew, they are so ugly!! Our dogs are always on the lookout for 'critters' on our walk but, an armadillo? That was a first.

Luckily I brought my camera with us and even more luckily-er I had my camera bag with my zoomy lens! So I was not as close as these pictures would lead you to believe (probably about 5ft away?). Micah and I were both saying we have never really seen one up close before (I mean you see them on the side of the road) but this was a first for us too!

Each dog did get to go and sniff near him, I think they were just really curious as to what it was! Shiner's reaction was kinda playful, Shiloh was very cautious and acted like she was not going to go any closer and dear old Beaux... At this point Arny (the armadillo) had run into the bushes and Beaux wanted to ATTACK those bushes! I was dying, it was so funny!! No worries about the doggies though, I'm too crazy about our dogs for them to get real close. I asked Micah to stay a good distance away just so they could sniff his turf!

Those things have some serious talons! You can see his back claws really good in one of the pictures. And maybe it's just me but up close they are totally creepy. Poor guy, he's just so ugly!
