Yesterday was a crazy day!

So as we all know by now Farrah Fawcett passed away yesterday morning after her years long battle with cancer. And as bad as I feel for saying it, the shocking death of Michael Jackson overshadowed her passing. Maybe it's because it was public knowledge that she was probably in her last days and out of nowhere there were reports of MJ's cardiac arrest, then being rushed to the hospital, then next that he had died.

It's pretty obvious that everyone was expecting it with Farrah, Barbara Walters did an interview with Ryan O'Neal and her that was supposed to originally air tonight (during the 20/20 time slot). And in yesterday's "View" they said it would air Thursday night as a special instead. So that was one of the main giveaways they wanted to get this special on ASAP, unfortunatley she passed before it would air.

You can say what you want or feel what you feel about MJ but, he was a very talented person. He just had such a hard life, his abusive childhood, the infamous Pepsi commercial fire, molestation accusations, the list could go on... We all know he was very strange, looks and behavior to name a couple but there is no denying he was probably one of the biggest influences on music today. I mean c'mon how many times have we heard PYT sung on American Idol?!

I've heard alot of comparisons {about his death} to Princess Di and Elvis, which I guess could be sort of fitting. We obviously don't have royalty here but he was the King of Pop much like Elvis was (and always will be) "The King". He was loved all over the world and if the news coverage gives you any sort of indication he had tons of fans. I have a feeling the near future is going to be madness with news of the autopsy report, funeral and who will now raise his children.

Also, at the beginning of the week the voice of The Tonight Show (w/Johnny Carson) Ed McMahon passed away too. It was common knowledge that he was struggling with health issues too. So all in all it was a pretty crazy week we lost an angel, a voice and a real music legend.

On a weird side note when I was in Vegas (after I turned 21) I had a random MJ experience I'll share... This first picture was taken the day we were set to fly back home. My mom and I went to Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum and here I am being dumb posing next to Micahel Jackson's statue!
Then I think my mom wanted to play one last hand of black jack and I wanted to stop and get a souvineir t-shirt. So I walked over to the Forum Shops at Caeser's Palace, I knew exactly which stand I was going to also. So I'm sitting there paying for my shirt and I here screaming (which inside the Shops made it echo something crazy, if you've been you can understand) and I look up to see silky jammies, a mask with sunglasses and a medium size entourage. It took a sec to process but, I was like ahh! That's Michael Jackson! So I yanked my camera out of my purse and snapped a pic right as they were walking by. I was lucky the picture I got was so clear & close.

So there I was spotting Michael Jackson... by myself. When I got back with everyone I told them about my sighting and that I got a picture. Some people who have seen the picture said oh no that's not him but y'all... that skin and that get-up, who else could be? Plus that guy looking at straight at me is some big German business manager, Dieter Wiesner.
This is a picture I found online that has the German dude and Michael. See it's proof that the 'phantom Michael' at the Forum Shops was indeed the real one! That's one of those sighting stories people say you can tell your grandkids about. But since he has passed so early, it will be more likely one to tell my own kids instead.
